By signing up, you commit to making 10 Valentines to send to a group of people around the world. When you sign up to participate, you’ll provide your mailing address. Once the submissions are closed on February 1st, you’ll receive a list of names and addresses from people from around the world to send Valentines to. Please try to get them in the mail no later than February 8th to ensure they arrive on time. It’s so much fun to see all of the cards arriving in the mail mid-February!

How it started

Photographer and artist Julia Parris loves snail mail, and has been sending letters to friends around the world for as long as she can remember. In 2011 she started what would become known as the Handmade Valentine Exchange. At the time, Julia was making and sending valentines to a handful of friends around the globe, but the next year she invited the public to join and it doubled in size. Last year participation grew to include over 2000 people from as far as Germany, Spain, France, UK, Russia, Australia, Costa Rica and US.

Sign up today to make and send 10 valentines to strangers around the world. In the meantime, you can follow Julia on Twitter for updates.
